on the subject of web 2.0, what it does, and how the eff it makes money, here's an interesting link:
http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/120/facebook-is-the-it-company-of-2007.html

as to "feeling" over needing to understand...ummm...on behalf of accountants everywhere, I don't really feel numbers. I look at numbers - and flowcharts - and invoices, then I run certain analytics, drill down for some additional data, then look at other items. Nowhere in this do I need to 'feel' quantitative items to understand them. And oh yeah, we have a lot of jargon too. ;)

Did I mention the part where I was generalizing?

"Yeah, I know. I am generalizing."

To be fair, this is probably the best way to communicate technical stuff to non-alpha-nerds. I strip out buzzwords for my parents.

Heck, I strip out buzzwords even when I'm talking to alpha-nerds. Alpha-nerds sometimes lose sight of the fact that technology is supposed to make you feel good.

Just FYI--the ranking of 8,911,336 is some kind of estimate, as it is also what I got on Technorati...

Now, been meaning to comment on these two remarks in this blog entry:

"When you have to explain revenue models to accountants and lawyers who also happen to be women, your descriptions really have to be stripped of buzzwords. And they have to make sense in a non-techy way."

I thought that you were more advanced than this Parv--I might actually have to use that quote in our Drupal meetup talk on women in tech. Yeah, women and buzzwords don't compute. What do I do for a living again?

"Guys are logical, left-brain thinking, heaps of oaf. Women on the other hand are not going to fully grasp a concept until they understand how a concept is supposed to make you feel."

Oh yeah. That's why I can't understand buzzwords...because I can only understand concepts based on feeling, not logic or function. *rolls eyes*

I'm not even going to bother any further ranting.

So I'm 8,911,336. At yet, this is hard to imagine considering Technorati apparently trackes over 83 million blogs.

Anything outside any commercial value will/should be be towards the bottom of the list. If I count you, thats 2 people that may regularly view my blog. Factor an RSS feed and you wondering if you ranking will be lower as page impressions are not actually being made??

Oh, and your Macho Man Randy Savage leep from the canister is pitiful. I should drop the people's elbow on you for even the attempt at what looked more like Yokozuna Drop.

My 2 thoughts anyways...
