Strategic Financial Plan for Dummies

Recently, I was forwarded an email from a group of commerce students.  They were assigned a project to startup a new venture that they would pitch to investors.  They had a product plan but they didn’t know where to start with a strategic financial plan. I quickly scrapped together an email response in 5 minutes. [...]

Squash!

I thought I would post this picture. This is a picture from way back in the day. I don’t have the hair or earings in both my ears. I still have the trademark rambuctious laugh though. I actually still have that t-shirt. I believe it was purchased from The Saan sometime after 1986. That’s only [...]

Geek luvin'

The Tyee and The Escapist are two fine online publications. They are usually very well-written, focused, and have high production values. Subscribe to their RSS feeds. You won’t be disappointed. Well, Valentine’s Day was last week. The topic du’jour seems to be how the chicks dig the geeks. The Tyee published an article called Why [...]

It seems…

It seems that I’ve started a trend. I’ve had the buzzcut for about a month and a half now. The worst part is the little hairs in the washroom that are impossible to cleanup. I usually buzz every other day, so there is always a hair or two to be found. I’m a clean freak [...]

R-A-W-K

Soldering Iron?

Anyone have a soldering iron? Basically, my car doesn’t like to start when it is warm. After some Googling, it seems I should be able to fix this myself. Here’s a do-it-yourself guide. I’m just not in the mood to buy a soldering iron that I will only use once.

Miscellany

I just got out of the gym and I’m completely wired, so this entry is going to be a complete mish-mash of miscellany. I wanted to keep my entries more on the well-thought out side (a la Paul Graham, Joel Spolsky) rather than the rest of the crap you see on the Internets these days [...]

Seattle, Washington

I woke up Wednesday, whenever I woke up. I packed my bags and jumped on the bike. I am trying to travel super-minimal. I have one tail bag full of clothes and one backpack full of credentials, toiletries, and electronics. I only packed one pair of jeans, two t-shirts, a fleece sweater, and three pairs [...]
